Dr Reenee Barton
Reenee Barton is Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for National Deaf CAMHS in the South West of England. Her mission is to identify, understand, and manage, challenging behaviours and emotional distress in children with sensory and communication impairments.
She firmly believes that the key is to understand the needs of each child holistically; promoting the integration of mental and physical health, with education, social care and special educational needs services.
Graduating with honours in medicine, she is a member of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. She has worked in the NHS for over 20 years, including posts at Manchester Children’s, The Maudsley and Great Ormond Street hospitals.
As well as her medical commitments, she is the Chief Instructor at her dojo, teaching children and adults the Japanese martial art of Aikido.
